Children are very capable of starting to cook at the age of five. They have the motor and cognitive skills to do it and, because their eating habits are set by age 12, this is the time to instill skills and attitudes toward preparing and eating healthy food. Studies show that if kids are involved in making the food, there is a far greater likelihood that They will eat it. Of course, having an adult beside them at the stove or as they learn to use a knife is crucial. Cooking with kids is full of lessons from math to science, from teamwork to culture. You can’t tell kids how to eat healthily, you have to show them how to make healthy food choices, and once you do, they are empowered to do it themselves. They discover the pleasure and satisfaction of creating meals for themselves and they develop the skills to make healthy food choices at home or away from home. This recipe includes a variety of ingredients that are wholesome, nutritious and delicious.
