Ignite the Spark

What is the foundation of health? How do we preserve a state of wellness, that we may give our gifts to the world?

Although the answers to this question are many and varied, there is one quality that underpins the health and happiness of body and mind, and that quality is compassion. No matter which paths we travel, compassion brings us home to our higher consciousness, to the source of all life and health.

In the words of 13th-century mystic and poet Rumi, “Wherever you are, and whatever you do, be in love.” Living in love means living in the fullness of one’s strength and wisdom, which are expressions of the Divinity from which we come, and to which we return.

Grandmaster JinBodhi seeks to help our readers rediscover their compassionate radiance. He offers insights on how this illumination can bring about greater health, insights which infuse our look at depression and the journey to equilibrium. Compassion also aids the health of the planet and all creatures that coexist with humanity. With this in mind, Meditation Health explores conservation efforts on behalf of endangered African elephants. And for refreshment of the spiritual self, we travel to Busan, Korea to bathe in peaceful simplicity at an eminent mountainside temple, and probe the mysteries of the soul by exploring the possibilities of reincarnation and rebirth.

May the simple philosophy of compassion for self and others be the strength upon which you build your world. When we exist in the light of love and extend empathy to others and to ourselves, we build a foundation of wellbeing strong enough to withstand the inevitable shifting of the earth. Where there is compassion, there is a spark of Divinity and a way to wellness. It is our hope that we may help you ignite that spark.
